COP Requirements for BT or Basic Training

Check the summarized requirements for applying COP or Certificate of Proficiency for BT or Basic Training Instruction for all seafarers at MARINA.

Sea Service Requirements:

1.) For New Applicant

  • None
2.) For Re-validation
  • 12 months for the last 5 years
Training Requirements:

1.) For New Applicant

  • Personal Survival Techniques
  • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
  • Elementary First Aid
  • Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
Note: The above training requirements are all covered by BT or Basic Training course.

2.) For Re-validation

  • Refresher training on:
    1. Personal Survival Techniques
    2. Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
Documentary Requirements:

1.) For New Applicant

  • Screening / Application Form
  • SIRB
  • Certificate of Completion
  • Training Completion and Record of Assessment (TCROA) as “passed”
  • Enrolment Report Form
2.) For Re-validation
  • Screening/Application Form
  • Proof of seagoing service as reflected in the SIRB
  • COP
  • Training Completion and Record of Assessment (TCROA) as “passed”
  • Enrolment Report Form
  • Valid Medical Certificate issued by accredited clinics or hospitals using the DOH prescribed PEME form
Fees and Charges:
1.) Issuance/Revalidation of COP
  • Regular Processing – P200.00 / issuance
  • Expedite Processing – P400.00/ issuance
2.) Replacement/Re-Printing of Lost/Damaged Certificate – P200.00/issuance
3.) Certified True Copy of COP – P100.00 /certificate
